We are homeowners!

A Long-Overdue Update
By Lauren, Sunday, Jun 1st, 2008 @ 11:19 AM EDT (GMT-4)
So the last time this blog was updated was in December. I will promise to update this more often than on six month increments. There are so many things that have happened since that time. David got a job. I worked my butt off for the final sixth months at Georgetown and graduated from my master's program!

The working my butt off part might explain why I didn't bug David to update this blog, or update it myself. Other events of the last sixth months include:
- We went to the Adventure Travel Expo in DC for the third time. This time, we got to meet Andrew Zimmern, host of Bizarre Foods - a show that David loves and I watch even though it grosses me out:

- When David had a legal education conference in Williamsburg, Virginia, we turned it in to a little two-day getaway, and spent some time sightseeing in Colonial Williamsburg:

- My friends Janet and Danny got married. We had a great time at their wedding. Here is a photo where I am fulfilling my duties as a good bridesmaid. Smile for the camera!

- Two weeks ago, after graduating, I returned back to NJ for the week and got to hang out with Shevah and her
daughter Leila, who is now almost 9 months old. Leila is so cute, I could just eat her up!

- Yesterday, David and I went out to a fancy dinner at Chez Edelstein. For our
primi piatti we had homemade fettucini with a wild mushroom ragu. Our
secondi was simply grilled tilapia with lemon which had so much flavor and a perfect texture. Our
contorni was a melange of grilled vegetables for which the presentation looked like it came right out of the movie Ratatouille. For our
dolci we had grilled peaches, lightly draped in carmelized sugar, with fresh berries. The food was delicious!

My only criticisms of this restaurant are that it really should hire some extra staff and work on its ambiance. A dress code couldn't hurt, either:

In less fun news, within the span of about a week, David and I
each got two traffic tickets. I apparently have a knack for running red lights and talking on my cell phone. David speeds and drives carelessly (the latter when he changes lanes in to another car!)
That's all for now. David and I will try to update this more than once every six months from now on!
More Noodles
By David, Thursday, Dec 13th, 2007 @ 01:15 PM EST (GMT-5)
You asked for more Noodles, you got it.
Apparently, once you have either (a) a pet or (b) a child, no one wants to see any pictures of you any more. But we have had several requests for more pictures of Noodles. Admittedly, she's cuter than us (ok, than me, at least...)
So, without further ado, more pictures of our adorable cat are up
here. I think this one is one of my favorites:

Yep, when she sleeps on the couch, we cover her with the blanket.
Not only does it show how cute Noodles can be when she naps (which is most of the time), but it shows my paternal instinct: I am definitely the one who covers her when she decides to sleep on the couch!
